We propose the growth of Elsenham to become a sustainable new market town focussed on Elsenham Station that will take its place in the hierarchy of Essex towns while promoting the highest standards of sustainable design and layout.

Drawing on the market towns that characterise this part of East Anglia, Elsenham will sit within a rural setting that will also protect the separate and distinct character of Henham. The focus of the community will be a new town centre set around a thriving market place and town park surrounded by shops, services, jobs and homes. This will provide a hub for community life, providing a convivial setting for local businesses and events such as farmers markets, festivals and fairs that will serve both existing and new residents.

Elsenham will provide new shops, job opportunities, a full range of schools and services, recreational and leisure facilities.
